City Lights and River Rock Bible Church

Georgetown film fans are invited to pop in for free-movie Sundays at City Lights Theater in December.Pastor Charlie Turner and River Rock Bible Church are partnering with City Lights Theater for a holiday event in keeping with the best of the spirit of the season, and may even mean a miracle on 34th… um Wolf Ranch Parkway.

Every Sunday until December 20, City Lights will show modern holiday classics, free to the public, at 2:00pm.

  • December 6 – Home Alone
  • December 13 – The Muppet Christmas Carol
  • December 20 – A Christmas Story

The theater is currently open for business, and Pastor Turner has a mission to help City Lights give employees who want to work the chance to do so, particularly during the holidays.  River Rock and City Lights hope these family-friendly afternoons will raise awareness and provision for a great local business that routinely supports the community in many ways.

Their November 29 showing was a quick sellout, so more may be added. Your patronage will enable employees to work in December so they can provide holidays for their own families.

You may already know the price of your movie ticket mostly goes back to the folks who produced the films you see. Local theaters earn revenue at the concession counter, so bring the family, and your appetite for goodies, and remind our theater friends that it’s still a wonderful life in Georgetown. Registration is necessary to ensure the theaters do not overbook; visit RiverRockBible.com for tickets.

Manager Aaron Longoria says if Christmas movies aren’t for you, patrons can rent out a whole theater for private parties and showings. “Our equipment connects to blu-ray and other devices so you can bring your own DVDs, home movies, or even plug in your video games and play Minecraft or Madden on the biggest screens around. Private events are really keeping us going these days, and we’re looking forward to our first run showings of ‘The Croods’ and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ in December. We hope you’ll come see us.”
