Graduation is fast approaching for the seniors in our three Georgetown high schools and our community is preparing to celebrate the Class of 2022.
Executive Director of Community Engagement & Communications Melinda Brasher says, “Celebrating people, students and staff, is so important to us. It’s a very Georgetown thing to do, having the whole town in on it.”
What to expect in the coming weeks…
there will be no limit on in-person attendance at the ceremonies. All are open to the public.

A New Tradition Continues
The senior parade, which began in 2020 and has since turned into a beloved hallmark of convocation will be Saturday, May 21. All seniors are encouraged to register and decorate their cars to participate in a parade, which will follow the Poppy Festival route. The entire community is invited to gather and enjoy from vantage points on around the downtown Square.
Until then, seniors are still hard at work with the last of their studies and activities but May is a good month, and our youth are a good reason for Georgetown to collectively celebrate.
